The Company Process Map is the highest level of Process Modelling. This is a bird’s eye view. The individual processes and specific steps of their execution as abstracted.
The three major types of processes in the Process Map are
Management processes – processes supporting the strategic
direction of the company, e.g. manage products, manage sales, manage investment
portfolio.
Core Processes – processes enabling products and services that generate direct value, e.g. Advising customer, financing.
Support Processes – processes that support the management and
core processes and internal clients. Eg : Reporting, Advertising, Accounting.
The core processes are generally unique and specific while management and support processes could be same for the different branches of an organisation.
